Walking home one day I saw a little bird
And I said to myself what in the world
That’s the plainest bird I’ve seen
Well there’s no color on her wings
But then she flew…
All the colors of the brightest sunset took to flight
All the splash of a thousand copper clouds against the sky
Unseen treasure was hid beneath those heavy wings
But when she lifted them I saw what hope really means
Just goes to show the plain they see when you’re walking by
Can’t be compared to the beauty they’ll see when you fly.
I thought of you and how it seems that few can see you worth
And how you try so hard it seems to hide your pain with your mirth
Just wait until the time arrives
The day your wings will come alive
And then you’ll fly…
And all the colors of the brightest sunset will take to flight
All the splash of a thousand copper clouds against the sky
Unseen treasure is hid beneath your heavy wings
But when you lift them we’ll all see what hope really means
Just goes to show the plain they see when you’re walking by
Can’t be compared to the beauty they’ll see when you fly!
Cause you’re gonna fly!
