Old churches, old towns, old ways
Have a lot to say!
So take me back to Grandma’s front porch. I wanna learn what’s been forgotten long ago.
I want to feel how they felt in days gone by. Bring back what all they know.
1. Back when a man stuck to his word, and a handshake sealed the deal.
Hats came off when in the house and ya prayed before each meal.
Honesty meant more than gold and respect was always earned.
Hard work paid off come quittin time and our flag was never burned.
2. A man holding the door for you was seen as kind respect
They held each others hearts in hands of love and not neglect.
Time was precious but freely shared just grab a chair and sit back
A cup of coffee and a good long talk put the world back on track.
3. When right was right, wrong was wrong and a man would stand his ground.
Protecting those who belonged to him and never backing down
Family meant all to them second only to God above
The bond they shared was knit together by time, faith and love.
4. So hold my hand and dance with me, lead out across the floor.
I wanna dream about what used to be can we bring it back once more?
