I’m Not Ready to Let Go…
1. He said in his big boy voice, I wanna sleep alone
So trucking down the hall my heart broke with how he’s grown
Didn’t take long and I heard his feet pitter patter coming back
But my happy heart didn’t last long, he tossed his blanket “Mama, I don’t need that.”
Cho. I’m not ready to let go of you.
Ya shake free of my hand but my heart holds on
To every little childish gleam thats too fast gone
My eyes fill up with years of memories and your old favorite song
Skidamirinki do…
And I’m not ready to let go of you…
2. She said “I’ll be right back” and ran up the stairs.
When she came back down everything was perfect except her hair.
Boots on the right feet socks were matching her shirt was even tucked in
She looked so cute but I couldn’t help missing the messy days of back when.
3. Landing hard in a cloud of dust that jump was a little too high
Bloody elbows and banged up knees but his face was one big smile
“Come here bud, lets take a look I’ll kiss those owies away”
“That’s ok I’ll just rub in the dirt, no really I like it this way!”
4. I won’t fight it I’ll let you change just know it’s tearing my heart
In a million pieces that’ll travel with you in times when we’re a part
You each hold special places that no one else could fill
You’ve taken my life and made it worth while, I love to watch you grow but still…
