I went to a rodeo last weekend. The announcer was going on and on about how this one cowboy lucked out and got the best bull. By best, he meant the rankest, meanest, wildest, gonna-kill-ya bull in the whole rodeo.
Why was the cowboy lucky?
Why would a rotten bull be sought after?
Marble gray, big ole hump and horns that aimed to wound.
Well, by drawing the rankest, meanest, wildest, gonna-kill-ya bull, this cowboy knew he had the best chance at making the most spectacular ride!
So with a pocket full of dreams, heart full of hope, a mind filled with experience, a bucket load of worked on talent, trusty boots, ole worn out pearl snap and a suckered down hat, he made his ride.
And boy, was it a ride! 87 points, actually!
Why don’t we look at life that way? When we get handed the rankest, meanest, wildest, gonna-kill-ya life, when we’re dished out more than we can handle, scared to death by what’s ahead, weighed down by what’s behind, overwhelmed by what we’re holding, we should look at it as an opportunity to also achieve the greatest ride. The opportunity to succeed. The opportunity to do more than we ever thought possible! Suck that hat down, pull your boots on and grin, you may not have what it takes yet, but you will here before too long! God gave you the best, now you do the rest!
A bull that walks out of the chute doesn’t get ya anywhere. Don’t ask for that ride and stop complaining when you’re given the opportunity to shine! ❤️ Love ya!
